Lama
Puntso welcome Shamar Rimpoche
Did
you realize, Rinpoche, that we are going to celebrate the 30th
year of Dhagpo Kagyu Ling soon?
Dhagpo
is owing its existence
- to
the enlightened wishes of the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa
- to
the enlightened activity of Gendun Rinpoche
- to
the enlightened patience of Jigme Rinpoche
- and
also to the enlightened presence of Thaye Dorje, the 17th Gyalwa
Karmapa
But
if Dhagpo still exists, we most of all owe its existence to the
infallible support we received throughout these years from you.
You
offered advice, you gave instructions, transmitted teachings and
initiations incessantly. Even when times were difficult, you were
there.
Thanks
to that activity, we now have lamas and druplas, ordained and lay,
who in turn teach the dharma. We also have a lot of practitioners
committed to studying and meditating, and practitioners engaged
in the activity of the Dhagpo mandala centres in order to keep
them running.
All
members of our sangha have done their best to listen to and reflect
on your instuctions, and to put them into practice. We all wish
to be a support of your activity, tools at your disposal.
Talking
about tools, there is one that is about to be realised: it is the
Institute of Dhagpo Kagyu Ling.
Jigme
Rinpoche calls it a place, where the various aspects of the dharma
will be integrated and kept alive. The activities develop little
by little. Now we await the building which will accomodate them.
Although there is progress, the building takes a long time to get
off the ground.
I
take the occasion of your presence to announce in the name of all,
the wish that Dhagpo may quickly become the place envisionned by
the 16th Karmapa. May we all together with the united strength
of our aspiration accomplish the benefit of beings.
Thank
you for being with us. We will now offer the mandala of the universe
as well as body, speech and mind so as to generate the necessary
merit to listen to this teaching.
